Very smooth, and free for medical providers.

Very, very satisficed.

Pros

This platform is the premier go-to choice for pharmacy prior authorizations. Medical providers (e.g. physician offices) can use it at no charge. Filling out a form is takes far less time than waiting on hold to speak with someone from the insurance company on the phone, who will wind up asking the same questions or filling out the same form. The system can often get a response instantly, or within minutes.

Cons

Some insurance companies (e.g. Georgia Medicaid) are not yet integrated with covermymeds. This is not really shortcoming for covermymeds, though. Some insurance companies need to take the initiative to become integrated.

Makes PAs easier to complete and processed more quickly!

CoverMyMeds has been a great tool and a platform that we are really happy to be using. It saves us a lot of time on our PAs, which makes everyone involved happier, especially the patient which is of utmost importance.

Pros

Usually prior authorizations (Pas) take up time that nobody has and are hassle for doctors, patients, and pharmacies. This has transformed the process from requiring paper forms, written data entry, and old school faxes to a streamlined online form. We receive the PA request almost immediately, so a lot of time is saved during the PA process. Ultimately, this helps the patient receive the meds that they need in a more timely fashion. Considering how challenging and inescapable PAs can be, platforms like CoverMyMeds are important to provide patients with the best medical care we can. Also, we love that this is a free tool and it is simple to create your own account in minutes.

Cons

The interface is a little busy and there is a lot of information on the computer screen at once. It would be nice if it were a little easier to read and navigate. Also, customer service can be tricky to get a hold of but the reps are usually really helpful once connected. There was a time when a PA was entered with an error on it and the process to fix it was quite the ordeal, so maybe if there were ways that CoverMyMeds could work on that?

Web Portal is useless now

Not worth the headache, call your requests in

Pros

This used to be one of the best platforms to submit authorizations on, now it is useless and you are not able to complete the process

Cons

We are no longer able to complete our requests on this platform. Every single request comes back with various errors and provider support has no answers

CoverMyMeds Review

This software makes it easier for healthcare workers to communicate with patient insurance and pharmacy while also making it quicker to get the medication approved and into the patients hand as quickly as possible. It cuts out phone calls and hold times.

Pros

Makes the link between medical offices/insurance/pharmacies easy to communicate and get the medication approved as quickly as possible for patients.

Cons

The only negative I have found on my 5+ years using CoverMyMeds is some of the questions they ask about a medication can be repetitive. Same question asked with different wording.

Streamline patient experience for medication failures setup by insurance companies

A simple web portal that allows any users to enhance their patient experience and serve as a patient advocate.

Pros

I appreciate a traceable tool that serves as a patient advocate to navigate the craziness that is the pharmaceutical situation in the US. It allows clinicians to care for patients and can be managed by one user in the office with minimal overhead.

Cons

There is delays in return of information insurer specific. There is still paperwork and appeal processes that add manual labor if the automation logic fails.

It used to be very good but I will avoid using this system at all cost.

Pros

Online is it. There is not else I can really positively comment on

Cons

Now it is basically everything. Software upgrade is not an upgrade. Current customer service individuals do not know what they are doing.

Great product but needs updating

Pros

It is a free product that helps physicians manage the ever-increasing number of inane medication prior authorizations.

Cons

In Massachusetts we are now having to use a Standardized State Form for many of the insurances, and CoverMyMeds has not updated their software to make this form available. Although it shows up as the correct form, when you click on it, you get one associated with the pharmacy-benefits manager, which is the one from last year. I have chatted twice with their help desk, with no update to the website.

Useful medication Prior Authorization submission platform.

A useful platform for medication prior authorization submission that saves time.

Pros

Cover My Meds is more convenient than calling each individual insurance to submit medication prior authorizations.

Cons

Cover My Meds is a useful platform, most of the issues I have with it are not with the platform itself. One mild irritation is that if a pharmacy submits and sends you a prior authorization and inputs the provider's information incorrectly, it will update the provider's information to the wrong information on your end as well. It is an easy fix, however, and is due to user error (just not on my end).

Overall, nothing but good experiences using this platform. 10/10 rating and will always use it.

Pros

What I like most is how quick CoverMyMeds is to alert you that an Rx needs a PA, the ease of filling out the PA and the response time (within minutes!)

Cons

There is truly nothing bad I have to say about cover my meds. It has never not worked for me

PA-C

very poor.

Pros

None, another layer for medical practice to jump through for prior auth's. This program in no way makes it any easier or beneficial to the provider trying to get medications approved. It would be of some use if it gave an alternatively preferred drug that we, as the provider's, could select or like the previous MD noted give the guidelines needed to get the drug we wanted to use approved. This does not improve the process in any way shape or form.

Cons

as noted above, from a provider stance, this does not improve the prior auth process at all.

CoverMyMeds

It makes submitting prior authorizations to providers much easier on me and it takes up less of my time.

Pros

I love how easy it is to use. Most of the time when I am submitting prior authorizations all I have to do is click a few things and sent it to the prescribing doctor. I would absolutely recommend to any pharmacy that likes making their jobs a little easier.

Cons

Sometimes it wont allow me to look at past prior authorizations that I have sent in. There was one time when I know I sent the form to the doctors office but they kept calling in saying that they were not getting it. Restarting my computer resolved that issue and I have not had any since.

Pretty Easy to Use, Tech Support Helps

Some prescribed medications are not covered without Prior Authorization by their insurance companies. We use this application to help expedite the process between their pharmacy, our office and their insurance companies. It allows us to show and attach documentation as to why they medication is needed and what they have tried before.

Pros

It allows me to help my patients get the medicines prescribed by our doctor. Their technical support is also very helpful when needing to find more detailed information about the members rx bin numbers. The chat function is my favorite.

Cons

Sometimes get weird rejections after a Prior Authorization is created by the pharmacy. I shouldn't get them unless they are actually sent to the correct place.

Delayed transmission of Medicaid Claims for a child

Does not submit forms in a timely manner. Delayed transmission of SC Medicaid Prior Authorizations.

Pros

It is convenient. Sometimes it says forms not available.

Cons

I submitted a claim for a child's regular meds early on 8/18/22. He has been doing well on the medication for the last year. He was in foster care and is now adopted. He is 8 y/o. It was not processed by Select Health until today after multiple phone calls. I see on Cover my meds that it was not referred to Select Health until 8/22/22 - three days after I submitted the online form. I am very dissatisfied with Cover My Meds but am required to use it by SC Medicaid plans.

Cover my meds

Our office likes the convivence of use, but could be tweaked for easier use.

Pros

Fairly easy to use, you dont have to talk with anyone, or be on a delayed hold, all you do is fill out the form and send. Turn around is normally quick but it depends on the insurance carrier.

Cons

Depending on the insurance carrier, it can sometimes be difficult to find the forms on line while trying to obtain a prior auth.

Great Tool!

Pros

This tool makes it very for a doctors office to have prior auths done for patients, they also like the fact that it pre-populates patient information which is less work for the office staff.

Cons

You have to be specific as to which plan you choose for a patient, they may end up sending a prior auth form to the doctors office for a different insurance which wastes their time and delays the whole process.

Needlessly cumbersome

Extremely frustrating and wasteful of the physician's time.

Pros

The program is easily accessible as opposed to calling the insurance carrier for prior authorization

Cons

The software calls for entering patient data that the insurance carrier already has and simply serves to make the process of prior authorization that much more time consuming. Most infuriating if a generic medication can be acceptably substituted for a branded medication, rather than just clicking a button to confirm this, an entire new prior authorization has to be initiated. This is such an obvious defect that I can only assume the program is written that way to make the process more onerous thereby discouraging the use of medications requiring authorization.

Easy to navigate platform that simplifies the PA process for pharmacies.

Minimizes the time I and my staff have to spend on sending PA requests to doctor's offices. Also, it is free!

Pros

I like that the software can connect directly to my pharmacy software and submit prior authorization claims directly to the doctor's office automatically, effectively eliminating paperwork for my staff.

Cons

I wish the software would delete PA requests after a certain amount of time. Currently, a user has to go in and manually delete PA requests. As another user said, it would also be nice if they listed formulary alternatives for recommendation to a doctor's office.

I use Covermymeds weekly to help control the prior authorizations for prescriptions.

It helps save wait times for the patients and makes it more efficient for the medical office to try and help get the medications covered.

Pros

You can access form anywhere. I like that it saves the patients information so if you need to do a prior auth on another prescription or the follow ing year the patients information is saved for future prior auth. You look quickly to see if they are approved and not have to wait on the phone.

Cons

I do not like that if you have to use another way to get the prior auth they do not always let you know in a timely fashion.

terrible for the doctor. Basically the doctor does all the work a pharmacist/ tech assistant...

terrible. Basically it is a way to prevent patients from getting their meds. It's a third party that does everything to prevent the insurance from having to dispense medications. It is not good for patients or prescribers.

Pros

check on patient's meds. The website says the pro info i added was too short. won't let me leave a review without adding pros

Cons

terrible idea that most healthcare (labs/imaging) is switching to. Basically making the physician do all the data entry work for the pharmacy. Doctor prescribes. Doctor should not be taking up valuable time to enter in Rx group numbers, patient addresses and other info into the covermymeds pharmacy system. I took time to write this review out of my busy practice because 2 patients didn't get their meds today because they are supposed to use this software according to their insurance. It's terrible. i hate it.

operator dependent?

1) there s a tendencey for pharmacists to just start a prior auth when the insurance will pay for a perfectly good alternative medication - so a lot of needless and time consuming requests are sent in so only one in 20 requests are actually usefull
2) very hard to get on - something about the password system does not work so each time we need a new and different passwords -and need to call customer service yet again
3) I finally asked them to stop sending requests - my staff can use it if they want but for me it is mostly just a waste of time

Pros

sometimes it works
customer service people seem ok though sometimes innefectual
occasionally we dsid get a prior auth done this way!

Cons

not able to get on the site reliably and they did nto stop sending e mails until I really insisted several times
