Super Easy Christmas Tree Cookie Stacks - Recipe Diaries (1)

These Christmas Tree cookies stacks will put a smile on anyone's face that loves sugar cookies. They are so easy to make with the help of store-bought ingredients. You know me, I like simple and easy recipes and I have no issues using the help of the grocery store. I’m mostly a semi-homemade cook because of that.

I was inspired by Delish’s recipe to make these Christmas Tree Cookie Stacks. Of course, as always you can make these cookies using your favorite sugar cookie recipe and frosting recipe. Just follow the same instructions on how to make the recipe below.

How to Make Christmas Tree Cookie Stacks

Preheat oven to 350º and line two cookie sheets with parchment.

Make three sizes of cookie dough balls with the prepared cookie dough: 1 teaspoon, 2 teaspoons, and 3 teaspoons. (You should have an even number of each.) Place medium and large cookies on a cookie sheet and press down slightly on each. Bake until center looks mostly cooked, 7 to 8 minutes

Place the smallest balls of dough on another cookie sheet and press down slightly. Bake until center looks mostly cooked, 5 to 6 minutes. When cookies are done, remove from oven and let cool 2 to 3 minutes, then transfer to a cookie rack to finish cooling.

Mix together the vanilla frosting and green food coloring in a bowl. Add the frosting to the piping bag with a star tip.

Pipe a swirl of frosting onto the largest cookie, then add the second medium-sized cookie on top. Pipe a swirl of frosting onto the second cookie, then top with the smallest cookie. Pipe a swirl on top of the final cookie and decorate with a star and round ornament sprinkles. Continue building cookie trees, then refrigerate until ready to serve.

Tips for Christmas Tree Cookie Stacks

In order to get evenly shaped cookies, use a teaspoon to measure out the different sizes. For small cookies use 1 teaspoon. Medium cookie 2 teaspoons, and the large cookie use 3 teaspoons. Shape them into a ball and place them on the cookie sheet. Bake one size cookie at a time.

Another way to get evenly sized cookies is to use a cookie-cutter that is shaped in different sizes.Roll them out like normal sugar cookies.

Use a star-shaped tip to pipe the frosting around the cookies.

How do I store these cookies? store cookies in an airt tight container tall enough to fit the cookies.
